The Kalmar Kronoberg Police Area is one of the police areas within the South Police Region. The police area includes Kalmar County and Kronoberg County. Geographically, this is the largest police area in the South Region and one of the largest in the country. The police area is divided into five local police areas - Västervik, Kalmar, Nybro, Växjö, and Ljungby. Within the police area, there is also a secretariat, investigation duty, and investigation section. The local police area Växjö currently consists of eleven BF/IGV groups, two groups within the investigation operations, and two groups within support/service.
We are now looking for a service man for the local police area Växjö. As a service man, you will be part of a workgroup consisting of ten employees and a group manager. In the role of service man, you are the hub at the police house in Växjö and a prerequisite for the rest of the operations to function.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a service man, you will handle tasks such as simpler carpentry work, replacing fluorescent tubes and lamps, ordering/purchasing goods and services, invoice management, replenishing consumables, receiving goods, handling mail, waste management/recycling, handling fault reports, and contact with property managers and suppliers.
As a service man, you will also manage the vehicle fleet and have ongoing contact with the vehicle coordinator in the police area. As a service man within the vehicle fleet, you are responsible for ensuring that service intervals are followed, carrying out transport to and from workshops and inspections. Furthermore, you plan and perform tire changes as needed and carry out lighter maintenance work on the vehicles. You also ensure that reported faulty vehicles are taken out of service. Good physical fitness is required for the job as heavy lifting occurs in the form of smaller and larger moves and other transport tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- Completed high school diploma.
- At least two years of work experience in service within similar tasks, handling vehicles and/or internal service that the employer deems relevant.
- Driving license B (for manual transmission vehicle).
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing.
- Good ability and experience in using several computer programs/systems in your daily work.
- Ability to move freely, as the daily work can be physically demanding.
It is meritorious if you also have:
- Work experience in mail and goods handling.
- Work experience in invoice management.
- Additional driving license categories beyond B driving license.
Personal qualities
In the role of service man, it is important that you are used to working in a team and that you have good collaboration skills. You also need to be self-driven and take responsibility since there may also be solo work. You are flexible and can easily shift and prioritize between different tasks. As you will often come into contact with people who need your help, you need to have a knack for seeing what needs to be done and be service-oriented.
We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
